She is a native of the multicultural Tijuana and San Diego border area, her familiarity with the United States and Mexico allow her to work efficiently with a diverse range of patients. She is fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
Doctor Venecia Hernández León graduated from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and completed her residency in General Surgery at Tijuana’s General Hospital.
Her interest in Bariatric Surgery arose from the increasing rate of obesity, and its impact on people’s health. She has dedicated her practice to the treatment of obesity, her primary focus being the personalized care of each patient consequently providing a comprehensive, thorough and evidence-based treatment.
She has performed thousands of bariatric procedures in her private practice. During the same time, she has assisted other bariatric surgeons. By training with other surgeons, she has gained/attained valuable experience and benefitted from acquiring their best skills.
